  11. Speech and Debate Workshop

    Join R.H. Stafford Library for a six-week speech and debate course for students in grades 5-8 with Lightwave Learning. In this engaging course, students will step into the shoes of lawmakers, politicians, and advocates as they delve into public speaking and debate. Through the program, they will be introduced to skills in critical thinking, persuasive argumentation, and effective rhetoric through hands-on activities, including speaking drills, interactive games, and mini-debates. Early engagement in this competitive activity fosters vital skills for future leaders. This event is for students in grades 5-8. Registration is required. Participants should attend all six classes (January 23, January 30, February 6, February 13, February 20, and February 27). This library event is an adult-free event, excluding library staff and partners.
