This storytime is for children of all ages and their caregivers. This storytime will have unique content from our Thursday storytime, and you are welcome to attend either or both. This is an in-person, indoor program. Registration is not required.

    Join us in singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing at this inclusive, welcoming storytime for families at Woodridge Park (9000 90th St S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016) starting at 10:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. This storytime focuses on concepts such as life skills, counting, colors, emotions, patterns, and kindness. Storytime is your opportunity to meet new friends, socialize, and strengthen early literacy skills. We will meet inside the park building. Registration is not required and this program is free. This storytime is recommended for developmental ages birth-eight and their grown-ups!

  9. Let's Make Stuff: Book Folding

    Join us for Let's Make Stuff! to get crafty and learn something new. In this class, each participant will create their own Folded Book Heart! Let's Make Stuff is a creative class for adults. Each month will feature a different project. Class size is limited so registration is required. Register online, or call your local branch. This program will be held at R.H. Stafford Library. Before registering, please make sure you can attend in person. If you can't make it, please cancel your registration as soon as possible to give someone on the waiting list the chance to attend the class. This is a repeated class on Saturday, February 17. Fine motor skills are required, we will be using pencils, rulers, a bone folder, and scissors.

  13. Speech and Debate Workshop

    Join R.H. Stafford Library for a six-week speech and debate course for students in grades 5-8 with Lightwave Learning. In this engaging course, students will step into the shoes of lawmakers, politicians, and advocates as they delve into public speaking and debate. Through the program, they will be introduced to skills in critical thinking, persuasive argumentation, and effective rhetoric through hands-on activities, including speaking drills, interactive games, and mini-debates. Early engagement in this competitive activity fosters vital skills for future leaders. This event is for students in grades 5-8. Registration is required. Participants should attend all six classes (January 23, January 30, February 6, February 13, February 20, and February 27). This library event is an adult-free event, excluding library staff and partners.
