Square Lake Park is designated as a regional "Special Recreation Feature" by the Metropolitan Council, because of Square Lake's outstanding water quality. The lake has some of the clearest waters in Minnesota, and draws scuba divers and swimmers from throughout the metropolitan region.
Square Lake Park has a fishing pier that is on the east side of Square Lake near the picnic area and beach. If you are looking to launch a boat, there is also a motorized boat launch with 12 trailer spaces available. The launch is open to winter access and has open speed.
Additional information on hours:
- Boat launch hours are 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.
- Beach is open 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
