If you have medical insurance:

Medical Assistance (MA): 

Contact the provider of your choice to arrange an assessment and discuss treatment options.  

Prepaid Medical Assistance Plan (PMAP):

Contact the member services phone number on the back of your insurance card to determine next steps.

Private Health Insurance:

Contact the member services phone number on the back of your insurance card to determine next steps.

If you do not have medical insurance:

Washington County may be able to assist with covering the cost of Substance Use Disorder services through the Behavioral Health Fund (BHF) which is for individuals who:

  • are Minnesota residents 
    • You must apply in the county in which you reside.
  • do not have health insurance that covers chemical dependency treatment services
  • meet the Minnesota BHF eligibility guidelines for income and household size

Behavioral Health Fund is a funding source of last resort and other options for payment must first be explored.
