Death

Records between 1870 and the present are available through Property Records and Taxpayer Services at the Government Center in Stillwater.

Records between 1997 and present are also available through Public Health and Environment at the Cottage Grove Service Center and the Headwaters Service Center.

In Person

You will be asked to complete and sign a Death Certificate Application stating that you are an Authorized Requester of the record. You will be asked to show valid identification.

By Mail

• Complete the Death Certificate Application and have it notarized
• Enclose a check or money order for $13, payable to Washington County (additional copies at the same time are available for $6 each)
