Sexually Transmitted Infections

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are one of the most common reportable diseases in the U.S.

  • One in two sexually active young people will get an STI by age 25.
  • Many people will not know they are infected because frequently there are no signs or symptoms.
  • If left untreated, some STIs can cause serious effects such as infertility.
