The Information Technology Department is a support department providing computer, telecommunications, and cybersecurity services to other county departments. The department provides installation and maintenance of computer and server hardware and software, network and service connectivity and associated cabling. Staff assists in the purchasing and licensing of computer hardware and software and training. Staff also writes, supports, and maintains various computer interfaces and applications, including Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications. Also provided are Internet, intranet (internal county website) e-mail access, and installation and maintenance of telephones and voice mail.

IT Security Manager

The IT Security Manager provides specialized leadership and technical directions to a division within the Washington County Information Technology Department. This role works as part of the IT Leadership team to develop security strategies for Washington County leaders, staff, elected officials, and external agencies. This role is accountable for developing and managing Information Security Systems including Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) data security, enforcing regulations, mandates and ensures compliance to all information security requirements. The IT Security Manager also defines metrics and develops a plan for meeting them. Must be able to collaborate with people from multiple departments and be able to convey processes and plans to non-technical stakeholders. This leadership role must have the ability to lead the Information Security team, have the capacity to deliver the security standards, best practices, security architecture, improve security awareness and training. Ensure information security systems security compliance across Washington County (CJIS, PCI, HIPPA, Etc).
