Blue kayak with a yellow paddle on the shore of Square LakeHave you seen someone paddling a kayak and thought it looked fun? Ever wondered what you need to get started on a kayak adventure of your own? We’ve got you covered with a beginner kayaking experience that will give you all the essential skills you need and build your confidence on the water!

Join the expert staff of the Wild Rivers Conservancy for an introduction to kayaking at Washington County’s Square Lake Park. Together with a small group of your peers and two trained instructors, you’ll learn the basics of properly fitting a life jacket, how to hold your paddle, and common paddling techniques. Suitable for children 8 and up, however children 14 years and younger must register with an adult.  NO PREVIOUS PADDLING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Once you’re in your kayak on the water, you’ll get the chance to practice your new skills as we paddle along the shoreline. And before you know it, you’ll be ready to explore the lake at your own pace.

$40.00 per person. Advance registration required, class size is a max of 12 people.
