Winter Constellations

Mike Lynch with Friends Friday, January 14 at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Lake Elmo Park Reserve - Nordic Center

Registration now open

Make the stars your old friends while watching the great celestial show in the skies over Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Get to know constellations like The Big Bear, Orion the Hunter, Gemini the Twins, Taurus the Bull, and some of the great stories behind them.

Giant video telescopes will be aimed to view star clusters, galaxies, and more. Participants also get a handout package with user-friendly star maps and constellation charts, apps, websites, a telescope-buying guide, and more!

Mike Lynch is a retired WCCO meteorologist and has been hosting star watch programs and teaching astronomy classes since 1972. He also writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and is the author of the book “Stars, a Month by Month Tour of the Constellations.”  Even if it’s cloudy, participants should learn a lot and have a great time!

There will be a short presentation inside of the Nordic Center. Please dress to be outdoors for the majority of the program.

Registration is required$5 per person.
